My research investigates social, cognitive, and emotional factors that influence health - with special impact on the formation and maintenance of individual identity. I am particularly interested in bringing theoretical models and paradigms across disciplines and in the application of research findings to real-world practice. I teach in the Psychology Department at Hunter College and am on the doctoral faculty in the Basic and Applied Social Psychology (BASP), Clinical Neuropsychology, and Health Psychology and Clinical Science programs at the CUNY Graduate Center.
